Clockenflap is upon us once again, as Hong Kong’s biggest music festival gets underway with it’s 10th edition this Friday at Central Harbourfront

As always the weekend is jam packed with experiences for your eardrums. With music from local icons, to legendary international acts and independant up and comers you’re sure to find something to fit your tastebuds.

Yet beyond the headliners and familiar names there’s a wealth of talent to unearth. To aid you in your quest for your ‘new favourite band’ we’ve put together three highlights from each day to add to your rolodex/mobile

ANWIYCTI | Fri 18.00 | Harbourflap Stage
Fresh off the plane from Icelandic Airwaves Festival this Hong Kong band is driven by three lead bassists, producing a potent stew of digitized fuzz against pounding rhythm . A regular at the city’s independent venues (r.i.p Hidden Agenda) catch them before they go global!

Lock into some fun, energetic  math rock riffs right after work with this instrumental French quartet. Syncopated beats, dueling guitars, twinkling melodies and chunky riffs, perfect to get you into the spirit of things.

Higher Brothers | Fri 8pm | FWD Stage
With hip hop booming in China, ‘the hottest rap crew in East Asia’ bring their chaotic live show beyond the great firewall. Tag along with  all the Hypebeasts making their way over to the FWD Stage to catch their debut Hong Kong show

Lush beats and R&B grooves laden with worldly flare are Onra’s signature. Pull up and lock in for a journey through sound.
